Stadiums of World Cup 2018
Russia is hosting the 21st FIFA World Cup finals. Stadiums being used to host the event include Moscow's Spartak Stadium as well as the Kaliningrad Stadium, Volgograd Stadium, Rostov-on-Don Stadium, and the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi.
Many in England were not happy about the choice of host country. Having seen Spain, France, Italy and Germany host recent World Cups in Europe, it was hoped by many that the event would return to the 'home of football'. Being of similar footballing stature, England thought it was its turn. Alas, for the England and the FA, FIFA had other plans. Aiming to extend interest in the tournament, FIFA selected Russia. England's disappointment was to be Russia's celebration.
The Luzhniki Stadium, in Moscow, was selected to host the final. Winners were France, who won 4 : 2 against Croatia.
